At one time we had a problem with runaway queries filling up disk space, (and before you "anti empowering users" go nuts it was the analyst for that area). Actually filled the disk. We use a large number of group profiles. The size of the data for each group NEVER increases by more than 8% in any given week. Therefore we changed the user profile for that group and changed their maximum disk usage to 8% over current usage for just that group. We run a daily report that shows each group profile with a maximum not equal to *NOMAX and what percent they are using that day. We have found that we only have to kick that number up about once a year. Right now that group profile is running around 98%. (Some of you may know what PRTRAND is.)
