Hi Simon, You might be onto something! I assume the only reason CHGQRYA doesn't affect batch is because batch submitted queries would have a different job name etc,? This could be good for us, because we don't want to use the system value if it limits batch. I'm also downloading the trial version of CHGQRYOPT, so I'll let you know what I think. You could use the CHGQRYA command in the initial program for each user to set the QRYTIMLMT for each job. This would not affect batch queries. The CHGQRYA command requires the user to have *JOBCTL so the program must adopt suitable authority. If you want more control over the query attributes you could use the CHGQRYOPT command in the base component of ONcmd. This is a free feature.
