Nice catch, Mark. Could be just that easy.

| Very interesting project. I have not done anything like this, but having
| worked with some dumb devices and wanted to contribute.
| It sounds a lot like "printing" to the scoreboard.
| My thought is, when you set up a printer using IP addressing, you never
| really know if it is printing.
| You just send the data.
| Same thing with this scoreboard to print a number.
| I might set up 1 IP configured outq (with the correct port) for each
| scoreboard IP address and try that.

And if this doesn't work, should be able to write a feeder/redirect *MOD, in
CL/RPG, to take a spool file and auto-translate it to TCP. To me, it
depends on how frequently, and how quickly the input needs to display, (iow,
how responsive the interface needs to be between whoever is entering the
data, and the scoreboard). (We're not talking a football/basketball
scoreboard, so a few seconds processing probably won't make much difference
a-Tall.) Also, the scoreboard displays 4 digits/characters, or 4 graphics??

| Object type *WSCST

Hopefully won't need to mess with *WSCST, but there are experts on this list
that Can help with that some. My own skill-set would be to try a sockets
implementation before messin' with a *WSCST, but YMMV (all Y'all's Mileage
May Vary).
