Production Scoreboards

We are about to install some production scoreboards in the factory.  They will 
have an ethernet card in them and will be attached to our network.  I would 
like to be able to send 4 numbers to this board directly from the AS400.  Now 
for the big question.  Can I do this?  I have no idea where to begin.  Each 
number on this board will have it's own IP address.  It seems as though I 
should be able to send the number to this board to display.  But I don't know 
how to configure the device or how to accomplish any of this.

If anyone has done this could you please give me some pointers on where to get 
started.  I would like to use an RPG program.
