I am currently using the free JDBC driver from Microsoft to access a SQL
Server database from the iSeries using Java. So far I haven't run into any
problems using it. The client I'm working with is a dental insurance
company that purchased a product for their HIPAA complience that keeps a
repository on a SQL Server database. I'm inserting and updating records
based on information in their iSeries database. This is on a V5R2 system,
but should work on any previous release that supports java.

If you have any questions or would like to see sample code let me know.

Thanks,
Cary Phillips

I have a client wanting to access a MS SQL Server database from the iSeries
much the same way you can access the iSeries via ODBC.

What are the options today on a V5R2 system?

Thank
