Jim,

If you are running V5R2, you can do a virtual connection by following
the steps in this document, worked pretty slick for me.

Anyone know how much a 04N5592 Cable is for Remote Control Panel on a
Operations Console PC?

I am on windows 98 connecting to a 270 on V5R2.

I know that I talked with IBM support a while back and they provided
me
with a workaround

to get the remote control panel w/o the cable but that was when it was
on V5R1

but apparently they are not forthcoming with that information anymore.

Or maybe the workaround doesn't work on V5R2 anymore.

Has anyone gotten it to work w/o the extra cable?

If not...how much does one of these go for.
