There are probably some good tools, but I do it this way:

QSH CMD('ls -al /michael >/qsys.lib/mylib.lib/myfile.file/myfile.mbr')

/michael is an IFS directory, mylib is a library, myfile is a file (that
already exists).

Here's the output...
