Instead of hijacking the option, have you considered hijacking the command?
Create your own command of the same name and put it in a library that is
higher in the library list that then original command?

At v5r2...  Has anyone figured out if it's possible to override the PDM
numeric options that IBM has preset?  I.e., option 14 to compile, I'd love
to hijack that so I can use my precompiler instead of having to remember
some alpha code.
