Here is the F spec and the action subroutine. The file is on our iSeries system and I have defined the server and the file on iSeries information panel. When I run the project in debug mode, I get the message - Cannot open input stream for default. (Maybe this has something to do with the problem). You have defined the server to be the iSeries you are connecting to? Can you post the F-spec for the file, and the Action Subroutine executed by the button? --------------------------------------------------------- Booth Martin http://www.MartinVT.com Booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx --------------------------------------------------------- -------Original Message------- From: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Date: Tuesday, October 07, 2003 2:03:04 PM To: 'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion' Subject: VisualAge RPG - Data Access I am not sure if this is the correct place to ask the question, but I am attempting to create my first application using VisualAge RPG. If this is not the correct forum perhaps someone can direct me to the correct list. I am running V4R5 and version 4 of Websphere development studio. I have created a simple window and a button which is supposed to return the first record of a file. The project compiles fine but when I run it, it seems to retrieve some corrupt data. The data being returned is ÑÂÁãÅâãðñ@@. It should have returned A01-23121-000. Any ideas? Thanks Phil. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
