? DROP TABEL NAMES ? Rob Berendt -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin "Hall, Philip" <phall@xxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 10/03/2003 02:16 PM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject Create a missing table in SQL ? I'm trying to check for the existence of a table, and do something depending upon the result. BEGIN ATOMIC DECLARE v_rc INT DEFAULT 0; SELECT COUNT(*) INTO v_rc FROM SYSCAT.TABLES WHERE TABNAME = 'NAMES' ; IF v_rc = 0 THEN CREATE TABLE NAMES........; ELSE DROP TABEL NAMES; CREATE TABLE NAMES........; END IF; END Using the interactive SQL, it gives weird errors about end of statement and such... Anyone see what's wrong ? Thanks, --phil _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
