factor 1 on the DELETE code! neat!

Please, no Jihad here... just a technical question.

Does the loop need a priming chain if we were to use a DOU loop instead of a
DOW loop?

Carel,

I don't want to be argumentative, but I use this technique all the time.
It hasn't failed me yet.

delete with a factor 1 argument does the positioning for you - it deletes
the first record in the file with that key field, and sets %found on

Rick,

I think you will not delete any record the way you do it. You will get an
NF or EOF condition and the file pointer will be moved to EOF and remains
there.

So I use SETLL to reset the file pointer (just to be sure it is in the
right position) and then start deleting the records (by key).

Carel Teijgeler.
