Scott, Agreed. The dspf and command were some of the first ways I tried, but they didn't work from within the shell script. Of course, they work great from OS/400 command line. My crazy what-ifs were more an exercise to help me understand rather than something I would actually want to do. Yes, that should work, since you'd be providing the Generic Terminal, which should then be detected and used correctly. I don't see why you'd want to go through all of that, though? A display file would be much easier.
