I suggest reading the V5R2 Memo to users, online. The online version has
been updated, versus the hard copy.
In there a referral is made to a website for planning information. Check
that out. There was various software and hardware products that were
either dropped, or took a "hit" when upgrading to V5R1 or V5R2.
Al Barsa has already mentioned some things that might have changed
programmatically.
Officially I don't believe that support is available for the upgrade from
V4R5 to V5R2 anymore. Even though it is officially technically supported.
There is a website that lists release dates, how long they are supported,
whether or not a particular upgrade is allowed, and how long IBM will
support that upgrade path. All this might not matter if you things go
smooth and you don't need to call Support Line. To avoid that, do your
homework.
