Thanks Gord, and to the others who responded. We connected using the Client
Access driver. What confused me is that they didn't just say "client access
driver". Also, we were referred to a web page that indicated "DB2/400 V4R5
via DB2 Connect 7.1" is also supported.

Management thinks there may be performance issues with ODBC and that one
method of connecting may be better than the other performance-wise. Do you
have any performance issues?

Hi Bryan

You just need to install the Client Access ODBC driver as part of your
Client Access install. We have Cognos and over 300 reports that access the
AS400 directly. If you want to use Stored Procedures, there is a special
little twist but, other than that, the DB2 access is seamless. If you need
some help, let me know.

We are installing COGNOS and the COGNOS consultant needs:

DB2 AS/400 CLIENT CONNECTOR and IBM AS/400 CLIENT SOFTWARE AND ODBC FOR
DATABASE.

Where do I get the client CD's? Is this part of Client Access Family for
Windows?
