Gohar,

Just a wild guess, but try changing the password on the DB2/NT machine to
all UPPER CASE. I know the iSeries translates passwords at times to
uppercase.

Subject: Help wanted with AS400 DDM file accessing a non-AS400 system

Hi

>From an AS400, I'm trying to access a remote DB2 UDB
table that resides on a W2K server.

Through interactive SQL/400, I'm able to access this
remote table using CONNECT TO and SELECT commands. But
I want to access the same through an AS400 DDM file.
When I do this, it gives me "Authorization failure on
DDM TCP/IP connection attempt" error, with reason code
2 i.e. "Password not valid". I've verified through my
job log that it is sending the user id that I've
defined through ADDSVRAUTE command and it is the same
valid combination that lets me logon to the remote
server through IBM DB2 UDB Ver. 7 installed on my PC.

Could someone please help me find what am I missing
here? I've found this relevant entry in the archive
but without any workable resolution.

Would greatly appreciate your help.
Gohar
