Can't say what's best, but there's RTV/PRTDSKINF as well as various
permutations of QSH utilities (ls -al > file, find, grep)  MC Press online
has done quite a few articles on QSH utilities.  I don't have a handy link,
sorry.  I get the articles via email and don't visit the web site too often.

examples of qsh stuff; perhaps the archives here would help?
