RE: Green Streak and CFINT01

Ever since the introduction of the interactive governor there have been
hardware levels that effectively remove it.  Initially IBM sold Server model
counterparts to a few AS/400 models, such as the 530 vs. the 53S.  The
Server models had the original limiters on the OS.  The rest of the models
in the product line were full blown AS/400's with the governor turned off.
Then IBM announced a product line where every model was a server model with
minimal interactive capability and that interactive feature cards could be
added to each model to enable levels of interactive CPW.  Buying the maximum
feature effectively disables the interactive governor.

Now the 810, 825, 870, and 890 are available as Enterprise and Standard
editions.  It's really just packaging.  The Enterprise editions have
full-blown interactive feature and some "free-inside" software licensing.
The difference is that the Enterprise editions are not as obscenely priced
as a maximum interactive feature card had been in the past.

If you check your system value for QPRCFEAT you can cross-reference it in
the system handbook to see whether you're at the maximum level, or whether
you have limits on interactive CPW.  But you're saying "no longer kick off
CFINT01".  If you had limits, you have limits.  IBM hasn't removed the
governor -- you can (and always could) upgrade your system to a new model
that effectively has no governor.

A while back I remember reading something that IBM had removed the CFINT01
interactive governor if you upgraded to a certain hardware level. Does
anyone have any details on this change (had them, lost them... full brain
and something had to go)? Also, is there a way I can find out if a
particular piece of my hardware meets the requirements to no longer kick
off CFINIT01?
