I knew that someone would ask for a name on this. I don't have a name, but it first came up on an IBM web deployment Web Cast a few years back. In the web cast, the deployment server was mentioned as any server that would run Websphere, this included a Windows solution. The web cast didn't push iSeries over any other platform. I also have gotten somewhat of the response with business partners and with a couple of IBM'ers at a some web-enablement Seminars. Not that they are advocating Microsoft over IBM, but that I need something to separate the Data from the logic. And their response was somewhat Vendor Neutral on what server runs Websphere. In all accounts, I am left with the impression that if I run Websphere on the same box as my data, than I'm possibly setting myself up for future security problems.
