Typical marketing hype...

Although I think Innovis is one of the better EDI packages, I have never
been able to integrate EDI into an existing application without at least
_some_ programming required. This has come in the form of having to modify
existing programs or writing new programs to capture additional information
needed in the EDI document.

There are always the few pieces of information that you may not currently
have on-line, like the bar codes for the cartons in a shipment, which are
required for an ASN (856) document. In one shop, I had to write a program
to allow the entry of this information at the dock before we could
successfully send an ASN to the customer (who _required_ the ASN be sent
within one hour of the shipment leaving the dock).
