Did you download a record from the target file with the receive from host function? This will create a field definition file (name.FDF) on your PC. This file will be used to "interpret" the data being uploaded from Excel. Remember that before you click the transfer button to pull a record down, you should also click file, properties, and check the 65535 translation box.
