You need to exclaim.... 
"There's a Santa Clause in my date field!"....
Then when they call come running, you have a clean screen... 
and say.... "Dangit... I saw it... It was there... I promise..."
Then after the argument, they will all bet...

Well, I tried.  Nobody in my shop was willing to bet that I couldn't put
'SantaClaus' into a date field.  No free cheeseburger for me.
