James: Can you elaborate? If you are actually looking for something like "spell checking", then there is a Check Spelling (QTWCHKSP) API to locate misspelled words and a Aid Spelling (QTWAIDSP) API that will return a list of alternative spellings. These both require spelling-aid dictionaries; but you can create your own, basic ones are simple. I'm not sure about purchasing dictionaries from IBM anymore.
