Must be very careful regarding testing, etc. We're looking at upgrading from our 720 to an 810 (yep, missed the 10% off) with LPAR. The real savings here, in addition to a separate testing partition, is the software and maintenance costs. (Some third party vendors are charging for maintenance in the second partition, but it's offset by the reduced IBM software subscription costs, tier drop from P20 to P10, etc.).
