Make sure that you have the latest version (June 2002) - it has some enhancements that the original version did not have that make it easier to write your own KMs. I did play around writing a KM to monitor output queues as an exercise which was quite effective. I have not put it onto a live system yet though. You might try visiting the developer forums at http://devcon.bmc.com Shadrach, Basic setup is fairly straight forward usually.
