You can't backup QNTC. Too bad.

Just a question, but does /QNTC need to be omitted too? Perhaps IBM
already
handles that one....

just wondering,

Thanks. I guess I am getting old (43). When I was younger, I mistake
like
this would have just popped off the page!

To repeat, from the DSPMSGD CPF382B itself:
Specify OBJ(('/*') ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT) ('/QDLS' *OMIT))

Thought it would be prudent to start saving the IFS on a daily basis
instead
of just parts of it. I added the command below to a CL that runs
nightly
but the job blows up with CPF382B (parameters not valid with multiple
systems).
SAV DEV('/QSYS.LIB/TAP02.DEVD') OBJ(('/*') +
             ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT) ('/QDLS.LIB' *OMIT)) +
             SAVACT(*NO) ENDOPT(*LEAVE) UPDHST(*YES)
