2600 (Hackers Quarterly has already published some of the specs for these machines. Given that Windoze is the most hacked operating system, both from outsiders & insiders it has & will happen. If your Election Supervisor is contemplating this move, warn them.. If they already have - warn them and tell your local version of Geraldo to check this out. The business lobby that sells this stuff only has millions to gain. Considering that most public school networks are easily hacked by students, and are maintained by the same County network people who maintain the election system.... I would gladly sacrifice a delay in the reporting to guarantee an increase in the reliability. In a way this is no different than reporting payroll from many locations to a centralized database.
