Just an update, I had submitted a DCR to IBM to allow an SSL connection with Control Channel unencrypted, data channel encrypted per a requirement to connect to a vendors/customers SSL FTP site as they required. It got shot down. See below. User Group Number - MR0527032538 Document Status - Draft Copy - Returned for User Clarification Title - FTP/SSL Allow Control Channel Unencrypted/Data Channel Encrypted IBM is unable to respond to the request as defined. This request may not be considered further until it has been revised and clarified. Additional information stating why IBM is unable to respond at this time follows: Design documentation that complies with RFC is needed.. As per our understanding of the FTP TLS/SSL (draft) RFC, Implementing the request would violate the RFC. We require a design document outlining explictly what is wanted/expected that would still comply with the RFC. Such documentation should include timing diagrams stating how the solution should be implemented.
