Thank you to everyone who replies to my question..........The check(er) is
working for me.
Another question about this issue......is there an easy way that I can
encrypt the charge card number to the file and un-encrypt it for viewing by
certain people? Is there a command on the 400 or in TAATOOLS?

It might be easier and more reliable to just edit the alphanumeric field to
determine if the format is correct based on the card type. An error message
could be displayed showing the appropriate format. I would think it would
be easier to use.

I think you'll have to have this edit in any event since there are several
ways to bypass CHECK(ER).

We have users just entering in the card number into an alphanumeric field,
they sometimes are short or long on a number, this causing our credit
department delays in getting the payment processed.
