This week I switched an IP address serving Domino from one iSeries to
another iSeries. The network monitoring software notified the tech's that
the mac address changed but other than that, freaking flawless.

That what you wanted to hear?

Don't route any iSeries Access to this address but I can't see where that
would matter.

have a friend replacing old as400 with a iSeries 8xx.
Right now both on local lan with different 10.x.x.x addresses.
For a test, after hours) he is going to shut down old box,
change new box ip address to same as old box.
change system name, network name, server name to match old box.
move twinax over (i know...)
restart new box TCP and ethernet interface

any problems with existing lan pc's seeing new iSeries? (mac address will
be different)
new box v5r2, old v4r5. DNS not running. Netserver is running & used.
no bridges in network, not sure if hubs or switches in local lan.
when test done, change new box back to previous other number & same reset
of tcp & interface

When go live - do it all again.
