> From: Vern Hamberg > > Does PCS/400 do anything for native 400 screens? WRKSYSSTS, etc. > What if an application calls one of these things, like WRKSPLF? None of the intrusive solutions syuch as PSC/400 handle native screens. As far as I know, neither does WebFacing. The good news is that few people need these screens to be available over the internet. The only one that comes into question regularly is WRKSPLF, and my clients typically create a small, simple API to do what WRKSPLF does, similar to Giuseppe Costagliola's JWSPLF command. As a bonus, I include my CPYSPLFPDF command to allow you to convert spooled files to PDFs for display purposes. If a program does call an OS/400 command, what happens depends on the command. Since the job is running in batch, most OS/400 commands simply generate a list and return to the calling job. Joe P.S. Its PSC/400, P for Pluta Brothers Design (www.plutabrothers.com) and SC for Server/Client, the architecture PSC/400 (and any other intrusive solution) is built on, and that I published in my e-Deployment book back in 2000. I literally "wrote the book" on this architecture <grin>.
