Another thought. Even Dynamic IP address doesn't change unless you disconnect and not reconnect before the lease time on the ip address expires. So you should be able to use the same IP address to connect to until that happens. <snip> Even the broadband connections that you can get for $40 or $50/month don't include a static IP - to get that you normally have to go "business class". This method just wouldn't work if you had a dynamic IP address on the home machine.
