I forget the file name but there is a text file (may have an extension other than .txt) that CA tries to write some info to. If the machine has NTFS disks you will have to grant Write/Change permissions to the file. How do you find out the name of the file? I (or I should say my user) receive a pop-up error message stating the file name. I don't remember if it gave the path so be prepared to run a search on it. Obviously you will need to log on with Admin or similar privileges to change the permission. As a practice I never grant permissions to the Everyone group. Instead I choose Authenticated Users or something more granular. Everyone means everyone including those that can hack onto your box. Sorry to be so vague but hopefully this will get you going in the right direction. Make sure the user does not close any error boxes! Best Alan Kincer IT Section Manager - KI(USA) 501 Mayde Rd. They have the latest service pack installed. Does anyone have any ideas? _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. ======================================================================= This e-mail, including any attachments, contains information from KI (USA) Corporation which may be confidential or privileged.
