As I recall, since it's been a while since I worked with Domino,
Domino can either use it's own SMTP server software or use the native AS/400
software. In either case you will run afoul of Domino. I think that SNDDST
needs the native SMTP server. If Domino is using it's own SMTP software and
you start the native software, they will both fight for port 25. If Domino
uses the native SMTP software then CHGSMTPA and CHGDSTA might mess with
Domino.

Subject: SMTP, Domino and SNDDST

hey all,

I'm trying to setup our iseries to allow it to do a SNDDST to an internet
email address.

The same iseries is running domino as the corporate mail server.

SMTP is currently running (port 25 is active, i can telnet to it and issue
SMTP commands - but not the RCPT TO: command).

Someone here tried to get this working in the past, and they said that it
caused havoc with domino - making it unable to recieve outside mail.

can someone re-assure me that I won't break their email server if I
CHGSMPTA, ADDDIRE (or CHGDIRE) and CHGDSTA to get SMTP up and running the
way I need it to?

Thanks,

Rick
