<<I've been searching 3 hours this morning for the failing device... >> Simple rules go with Twinax devices. 1. Make sure the addresses of the devices are correct 2. Check for duplicate addresses on devices with duel displays 3. "Normally" when you have a cable problem on a line, the devices AFTER(not before) the cable problem will fail 4. If you have different devices on the line go out each time, but one device is conistance, then you have an address issue 5. Make sure you check your pigtails and check to see if they are self terminating. 6. Depending on the types of terminals (as in back in the S/34 days), check to see if the devices have swtiches. 7. If the mux is configured correctly(ie wired), you will have a main line going into the mux, then ports coming off that line. The theroy behind that is your suppose to be able to disconnect a single device WITHOUT taking the others down, we did this at a copmpany I use to work for, but we also used twisted pair on the mux HTH Steven Segars AS/400 Certified Specialist/Administrator CSX Technology Work: 904-633-5650 Fax: 904 633-1051
