I have written a basic utility that handles that. Basically, every 15 minutes I execute a job that will read through the log and monitor for new records. When a new one is found it checks the status and sends an email to the user of the status. It is a very archaic method, but it works. -----Original Message----- From: fkany@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:fkany@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, May 07, 2003 3:05 PM To: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: email user if SBMFAX fails Hello, What would be a good way to handle emailing a user if a SBMFAX command doesn't work? For the first time, I sent a test page to our fax machine using SBMFAX. and sent a text email using SNDDST to my email address. I'd like to use the 2 commands together. This is what I'd like to happen: I want the SBMFAX cmd to execute and I want the user to be emailed if the fax fails. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
