Jeff, >Now I can't get rid of it. I've tried delete/rename with WRKLNK, Ops >Nav, and Windows Explorer. None will work. Usually when I get odd names on files / directories, I'll use wildcards to make a generic name to delete it. In this case, the bad character is at the beginning, so I'd try "rmdir ?V5R2Install". You may need to try that from a DOS style command prompt -- I don't know if the iSeries accepts ? wildcards. Doug
