When IBM announced V5R2, they said that it would not run on models 4xx and
5xx. They implied that the follow on release would run on 7xx but not 6xx.
I have consequently inferred that the follow-on release will run on 7xx and
170.

Keep in mind that when IBM announced first 8xx (the first of the now three
rounds of 8xx - *STUPID), they said that that technology was comparable
with 7xx (*LIERS - because it wasn't).

Will 5.3 even run on a 720. That is what we have and I thought 5.2 was the
last "supported" version?

Subject: Any idea when the "testers" will get a copy of V5R3? Al?

Anybody have word on this yet?

I'm not in a hurry or anything, I'm concerned because they claim that
they'll disable my 2761 comm card. Right now, it's sitting in our 720
keeping 8 phone lines busy and sending a lot of faxes.

If someone gets an early copy, AND if they've got a 2761 to test, I'd sure
appreciate any word on this.
All I'm asking is that they NOT DISABLE it.

Thanks.
