>Btw, anybody recall if implicit AP sharing comes into play when 2 LF share >major keys. Meaning: If you have a LF by customer, and another by >customer/order (with same SLTOMT), don't these implicately share the same >AP...?? My recollection is that they do, (but wouldn't bet even a >donut...;-). Depends on their creation order and FIFO/LIFO. IF the customer/order is build first then the customer LF will use the customer/order access path. However, if the Customer is built first then the customer/order can't use it (doesn't have the right keys) so customer/order will build a new access path and the system won't automatically say, "hey, now I can drop this customer access path" so creation order is very important. IF FIFO/LIFO/FCFO is specified then then two LFs must have the same exact key structure to be shared since Customer/FIFO isn't the same as Customer/Order/FIFO. -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III President Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 (208) 692-3308 eFax WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
