Some people complain because there is no printed Memo to Users. The
upgrade manual points you to a web site. Actually the Memo to users for
V5R2 was drastically rewritten in 2003 to include a bunch of new
information. Paper is obsolete the second it is printed. And, judging by
some of the really upset people, "why didn't IBM tell me that?!" comments
here lately I can see why they want to keep the Memo to Users more fluid.

You may find the memo to users at:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/rzahgmtu.htm

I have finished going thru my V5R2 documentation and there was no Memo
to Users nor did I find any mention of the "prep" PTF's, where can I
find them or what they are? Are they part of the cume/hipers I just
received for V4R5?

V4R5 to V5R2 did require some preparation PTF's.

Thanks,

Good question. Normally I wouldn't bother, unless the Upgrade Guide,
Memo to Users, or some other such documentation pushed me. V4R5 and
V5R1 are old I can't remember if V4R5 is the one that required some
preparation ptf's when going to the next release.

Why do you need to put on the PTFs for a release you're replacing?
