It is used for the STRSQL command - a series of screens to prompt sql
statements.
OS400 executes SQL without this product. It is required in order to compile
embedded sql inside rpg & cobol (source member types sqlcbl, sqlcblle,
sqlrpg, sqlrpgle)
It is not free, but ibm has often included it in various bundles.
