OK...You can download a sample of how to use Dynamic Selection in a batch Query/400 Query from the following link: http://www.snap-ebooks.com/AS400Utilities.htm You'll want the tip named: Runtime Record Selection in Batch Query. I didn't spend a WHOLE lot of time working this up, so...while it does work...I didn't do any type of error checking or editing of the text. If you see a typo or two...tough. :-) Shannon O'Donnell ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vern Hamberg" <vhamberg@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 24, 2003 11:50 AM Subject: Re: Passing parameter to a query > But you can't pass a variable to a QRYDFN, which is what is needed. > > The other alternative is CREATE ALIAS > > Vern > > At 06:20 PM 3/24/2003 +0100, you wrote: > >If it is an Query/400 QRYDEFN, then on the RUNQRY FILE-parameter you can > >indicate which library and member to use. > > > >Regards, > >Carel Teijgeler > > > >*********** REPLY SEPARATOR *********** > > > >On 24-3-03 at 10:26 Steve Landess wrote: > > > > >Query Management queries, like SQL, cannot handle members.
