Yes Buck,  PTFs fixed the problems. At the time I was on the latest cumes.

and even now it works most of the time.  Every now and then it looks like a
lock
is not removed by DLCOBJ.  I try to defer going to the latest OS400 release
to
avoid issues but if everyone did that no one would upgrade. I have enough
problems
of my own making so when system issues occur it gets a bit much. OS400
stability
is legendary but if you get close to the 'bleeding edge' it hurts.  IBM
also tries to get
users onto the latest release but I have been bit too often to go
willingly.

Anyway, nuff said.

I haven't encountered any issues with SQL on V5R1.  Our software uses a
bunch of stored procedures, and I'm pretty sure one of our customers would
have complained if something was awry.  Are you up to date on the database
group PTFs?
