I agree,  what would you like as an alternative????  On the System/38,
these objects became owned by QSECOFR.  I'd like to see a better
alternative too, but I don't know what to suggest.

Every object you save using OS/400 commands will have a user profile as
an owner.  This ownership is maintained on tape.  When you restore that
object onto a system which does not have that particular user profile,
then OS/400 will assign ownership to the "default owner", QDFTOWN.  I
don't think that it is a group, unless you specify it as such.
