But if the length does prove a problem, by all means go ahead and substring the long one to match the short length. Try it, you have little to lose. I'm pretty sure there are SQL links in the FAQ, but if my memory is faulty, I'm sure you can Google a bunch of examples using UNION. That's one good thing about SQL: you can probably find help from any platform that will generally apply to DB2 UDB for iSeries. --buck
