The rub here is this: One client provides record keeping services to small companies who are in the home health care business. My client is going to provide the "device" to the supervisors of the nursing teams to collect various pieces of data. Giving that person a smart phone is probably not going to be in the budget. The other client is a construction company whose employees use Nextel phones. We've already cleared the hurdle of using the phone as a modem for a PPP connection to the 400. This customer is finalizing an agreement with some wireless internet provider to put an antenna on the radio tower they've been using for years. I'm just looking down the road to the time when their internet connectivity will be free. Instead, get a smart phone. This is a cell phone with a Palm OS built in! The Palm network is pretty limited. Major citys only, and not far from them. And it is expensive. With the smart phone approach, you only pay normal cell airtime. And the 3G networks are starting to roll out so things will be much faster. And yes, the phone side works pretty good also! I have a Kyocera 6035 and love it. But, it is old and outdated now. I'm waiting (hoping) that Sprint will carry the Kyocera 7135...that phone ROCKS.
