To default to tray 4 (I assume it's a high capacity tray) you may just
want to do this at the printer in the IPDS menu. This will only affect
IPDS printing from the 400. It's page 45 of the IPDS Manual from Lexmark
for Optra T Lasers ftp://ftp.lexmark.com/host_connectivity/GI-014-3.pdf
The steps can map tray 4 as the 1st tray.

I only got into this in last 2 months setting up a large, complicated  print
job
on a similar Lexmark. This is easier than the Workstation Customization
(wcst).
