RE: AS400 not IPL'ing properly

I believe your problem is the "M" on the system led.  This should say "N"
for Normal IPL, "M" is manual.  There should be a control panel on the front
of your 400 that allows you to select the type of IPL.  It should be "01 B
N"

I have inherited a 9406-270 with a PC console that does not come up to the
sign on screen after an IPL. After an IPL it shows a screen with some
options - install operating system, ipl, etc. 
The system led displays 01 BM V=F. 
How can I get it to IPL like a normal machine, coming up with a sign on
screen?
