I went down the DSM road (in fact I like DSM, I implemented a basic version of the UNIX Curses library using DSM - anyone want to play 'Rouge' on a 5250 screen ? ;-) and yes for 99% of the cases you can achieve the same thing using DSM instead of UDDS. Unluckily for me, some of our screens were in the other 1%... It's been a while, but I seem to recall it was something along the lines of wanting to placing the attribute for a field on the last column on the line before where I wanted the field - anyway whatever it was, DSM threw a error and I couldn't convince it to do it, but I was able to manage it using UDDS. --phil
