Bill, The option 21 will not save your spool files. I did see some discussion with regards to what was and wasn't saved and certain issues (network attributes, etc.) back in January on this list. I didn't pay too much attention to them so you might want to take a look. I did a unload (using opt. 21) and did a reload back in January. Other than I used my TAATOOLS to save my printed data, I did not have to do any other specific function for the reload. Also, make sure you find the instructions for reloading for your machine (v5r1, v5r2, etc.) in the Information Center and follow it. HTH. Michael Crump Saint-Gobain Containers 1509 S. I originally was going to do an Option 21 (twice), but I am now questioning whether this would end up restoring everything back. Can I completely restore a system - including spool files and other niche entities - from this tape -or- is the proper method SavStg? I've been scanning through the Backup and Restore manual and I'm getting lost fast. Does this manual or another one address this process? (or can someone give me the steps to accomplish it).
