Well, I am not so sure it is just one message. Below is part of a pmr, and below that is IBM's response, (which concerns me). Got the same messages. I noticed that when I did a STRTCPSVR *SMTP I got: Job 032136/QTCP/QTSMTPSRVD submitted to job queue QSYSNOMAX in library Q SYS. Therefore I did a wrkJob 032136/QTCP/QTSMTPSRVD This doesn't look cool: Message ID . . . . . . : MCH0601 Severity . . . . . . . : 40 Message type . . . . . : Escape Date sent . . . . . . : 01/31/03 Time sent . . . . . . : 09:5 3:27 Message . . . . : Space offset X'00000000' or teraspace offset X'0000000000000000' is outside current limit for object &1. ACTION TAKEN: From the symptoms that you are receiving it appears that there could be a bad e-mail in the QMSF job. You are correct, the msgMCH0601 isn't cool. It normally indicates that you may have been used as an open relay by spammers. Therefore, your SMTP server jobs have many, many undeliverable e-mails. The msgmch0601 indicates that we are processing over a million mail objects and the SMTP server is in recovery trying to match FSO's and MCB's. We have seen this with Spam attacks and also with a recovery after a system failure.
